Rehearsal Skirt

I was commissioned by an acting professor to make two rehearsal skirts for her class that could fit a variety of sizes, for when her students forgot theirs, or did not have one. It needed to have a good amount of flow and length to represent a period skirt, could not be too distracting in color, and needed to be easy to wash.

I made this 1/3 circle skirt as a wrap skirt to accommodate the various waist sizes (as shown on a size 2 and size 20 dressforms), and made the length for a person of about 5'5" (about 1.65 meters). I made one in this burgundy, and one in a dark grey. They are made of poly cotton, and were pre-washed.
