1940s Plaid Skirt

This skirt was made using a thick plaid flannel, and a vintage McCall's pattern from 1947. It's always so interesting to follow the instructions from vintage patterns, because they often do things so differently than how I would; such as leaving the gathering stitches in 1/4" below the waist band.
Despite the side closure, there is still a roomy pocket (on the opposite side).
