"Miss Julie: Freedom Summer" By Stephen Sachs from the play by August Strindberg

This character's outfit is inspired by the 1960s style uniform worn by the "help" in the deep south. Our costume department thought it best to build this dress from scratch, rather than buy one, so that we could ensure its quality, longevity, and alterability to be worn for shows in years to come. I drafted it from a 1960s basic block.

The collar and cuffs are removable (stitched in with hand tacks) to be easily replaced with new ones for future shows. The dress opens with a functional button front, with snaps continuing into the skirt all the way down.
